Sales & Fundraising

Sales Van 66 at Hampton Loade

Our main source of income is our sales shop at Hampton Loade Station on the Severn Valley Railway. Located in former Great Western Railway tool van 66; it has become a popular attraction at Hampton Loade. The sales area inside 66 has been extensively refurbished by our volunteers including new lighting, flooring and shelving.

66 is open most weekends when the railway is operating and other times when volunteers are available. If making a special visit we would advise you to contact us first in order to check whether we will be open.

Items on sale in our shop include:

  • Model railway items including Dapol kits.
  • A mix of Second hand CDs and DVDs, some railway related.
  • A selection of fiction and non-fiction books, many collectable.
  • Handbags, jewellery, glassware, china and ornaments.
  • Cards for many occaisions handmade by our supporter Brenda.
  • Ordance Survey maps, picture frames and magazines.
  • Children's toys and trinkets, jigsaws and much, much more!

All proceeds from sales in Van 66 go directly towards funding the restoration of carriage 163. We anticipate at least another £25,000 will be required to return 163 to service for its 125th birthday in 2020 - every purchase made in 66 really makes a difference and helps us reach our goal.

Hampton Loade Station is a lovely place to visit with beautiful surroundings, refreshment kiosk*, a chance to view carriage 163 and the progress being made, the 'Fruit D' station fund shop*, the Paddock model railway on Sundays and of course sales van 66 - if visiting the Severn Valley Railway we would recommend you take the chance to stop off at Hampton Loade and have a browse...

*Opening times vary - please contact Hampton Loade Station for details.

We are always on the lookout for more items to sell for fundraising so donations of all shapes and sizes are most welcome – no need for items to be railway related! If you have something you would like to donate please visit us at Hampton Loade or contact us. Please note: we are grateful for any donations but are unable to accept magazines or videos.

Van 66 is kindly on loan to us from GWR 813 Preservation Fund.

eBay Sales on Behalf of the Trust

Collectables and other items are sometimes sold on eBay by seller 'thebarrycoach'. Listings with this seller help raise money for the trust on a commission basis. The seller has positive feedback and from time to time has a variety of vintage and rare items listed for sale. Why not help raise money for the trust by placing a bid?

Cake stall at Hampton Loade

During the Severn Valley Railway's Spring Steam, Autumn Steam and Diesel Galas our popular cake stall opens at Hampton Loade in the waiting shelter. We have a delicious selection of cakes available for sale - each one lovingly homemade by Sue, one of our supporters. All proceeds go directly to our project, so at the next gala why not stop off at Hampton Loade and grab a slice!
